Christian GAILLARD

Christian GAILLARD was born in 1951 in Avignon, France. He began his artistic career as an illustrator working for various prestigious French advertising agencies and magazines. Especially famous for his portraits of the matadors, many of whom are his personal friends, GAILLARD amazes his audience with his extraordinary technique. GAILLARD is greatly influenced by the Spanish artist Velazquez, and the purpose of his art, as in the artist’s words, is “to emulate [Velazquez’s] artistry in the subjects that are meaningful to me.”
